Based in the UK, Jo Middleton has been involved in the dog world all her life and is dedicated to making the world a better place for man’s best friend.

Her unwavering commitment to canine welfare and education is the fire that now fuels the International School for Canine Psychology on its mission.

As well as having achieved a qualification at Advanced level in Canine Communication, Jo has also completed a plethora of other courses and qualifications having learnt from renowned experts like Victoria Stilwell, Lisa Tenzin-Dolma, Dr Nick Thompson, Sarah Fisher, Trevor Cooper and Eryn Godfrey Marsh. In addition, Jo holds a Diploma in Animal Assisted Therapy that has seen her work in schools with rescue Rottweiler Tysie and use her 3 alpacas to help elderly people in the local community.

Jo's journey in the world of canines began with showing and training Belgian Shepherd Dog Malinois, where she achieved her Gold Kennel Club Certificate in Show Handling. However, in her early twenties, Jo became involved in the dog rescue world and started to have her eyes opened to how many dogs were in need of help. This truly ignited her passion and sense of purpose. She has volunteered in shelters for many years providing behavioural assessments, post homing support, transport, home checks and, as a qualified microchip implanter, microchipping services too. Jo stopped counting how many rescue dogs she had fostered when she got to foster dog number one hundred back in 2013.

Beyond her dog behaviour work, Jo has a successful track record in the franchise industry. In 2013 she founded the only Dog First Aid franchise brand in the world. The accredited training course that Jo and her team of veterinary professionals wrote was taken by thousands of pet professionals. Some went on to send in success stories where they had saved dogs lives with the knowledge they had gained. When Jo sold the brand in 2020 there were franchisees nationwide.

Jo is a true entrepreneur and investor. Her entrepreneurial spirit is matched only by her fervent belief in the power of education to effect positive change.

In summary, Jo Middleton is not only a self-professed dog nut but also a tireless advocate for canine welfare, armed with a formidable array of qualifications and experiences that enable her to make a tangible difference in the lives of dogs and dog professionals alike.
